Samoa
Whoever gave me the name "Samoa" was a genius. I look like this yummy cookie with legs, ears, and a tail. I am a bit on the skinny side, weighing only 5.8 pounds. I had a Body Conditioning Score of 3/9, which means I have less body fat than is considered healthy for my breed and size. This can be caused by not enough food intake, a high activity level, or a medical condition. My coat is in rough shape, and the medical staff found that I was missing some hair around the base of my tail and inner hind limbs. I am a 7-year-old female Tortoiseshell cat with a very loving personality. I arrived as a stray cat on May 17; however, the interviewer (IL) is skeptical that I have never been someone's pet. I am far too loving and friendly to be a feral kitty. The muscles in my back legs are rather weak. I have had some tummy troubles, and the staff is working on finding the diet that gives me the most relief. In the meantime, I have enjoyed my little 2-room apartment, bed, and blankets. I do love it when the volunteers come to interact with me. When the interviewer lady (IL) stopped by, I was excited to greet her with some heartfelt head butts. She began rubbing my cheeks and chin, and soon I was curled up on her lap, purring and closing my eyes. Pure bliss. As she petted me, she found lots of little matts in my fur. I think she will bring a brush next time she comes to see me. I hope to find someone with a big heart for cats who are down on their luck. Please give me a patient, caring home where I can thrive. A cozy indoor life and loving care will help me feel like a kitten again. 7-1-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
