Community Cat Program

A Great Non-Toxic Resource to Keep Rodents Away

Community Cats

The shelter is a very stressful place for cats. This is especially true for cats that have not been socialized and are considered feral or semi-feral.  Our Community Cat Program allows us to respect those cats’ wishes by placing them with caretakers who appreciate their value and that not all cats are lap cats.

Some were just born to be wild.

Our community cats are, of course, sporting all of their claws, spayed/neutered, ear-tipped, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. These cats are more than happy to chase rodents in exchange for a cozy barn or other appropriate outdoor shelter and your promise to provide them adequate food, water, a maintained litter box, and medical care as needed.

If you are interested in adopting a community cat , please Apply Now or contact our Cattery Manager at 317-219-3523 or catterycoordinator@hamiltonhumane.com.
