Description Bieber
Bieber
I understand that I was named after a famous person. So I googled my name and saw a hilarious person called Kate McKinnon acting like a silly guy. So I approve of my name. I am a 1-and-1/2-year old unneutered male, DSH, with a black coat. I was found as a stray on August 22, and my finder brought me to the HSHC. I was scared to death as I had never spent much time with people. During my medical examination, I demonstrated my anxiety by hissing, swatting, scratching, and trying to run away. Now I understand this is typical behavior for under-socialized cats. The staff and volunteers have been working with me to increase my confidence, trust, and willingness to interact with people. I developed an upper respiratory infection, but after treatment, I'm back to good health and in the cattery, ready to meet potential adopters. The interviewer lady (IL) spent some time with me yesterday, and it was a surprisingly pleasant visit. She complimented me on my eyes, saying they were a beautiful greenish gold with patches of brown.
I was hesitant to pay attention to her, but she was quiet and gentle. When she extended her finger for me to sniff, I licked it and then began licking her hand. I could smell her breakfast! Pretty soon I let her pet my head, neck, and ears. I loved having my chin scratched and began to purr loudly. It was quite relaxing until I felt like it was too much to let go on, so I gave her a little nip to let her know I wanted her to stop. I'm the kind of cat who needs a small, safe place to stay until I feel ready to interact with my new family. This means it may take me much longer than you might expect to settle in and feel comfortable. If my family will play with me using interactive toys (a fishing pole with a toy on a string, laser pointers, puzzle toys) in regular sessions, it will help me bond with them and increase my confidence. I hope to meet my forever family very soon. I hope they like Kate McKinnon as much as I do. 10-7-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
