Ziggy (at Smitten Kitten)
Description Ziggy (at Smitten Kitten)
Ziggy
The only other Ziggy I know is Ziggy Marley, Bob Marley's son. But I'm cool with this name. My owner gave me this name when he found me as a stray cat 6 months ago. He surrendered me to the HSHC on June 16. I'm a 12-year-old, neutered male, and solid black. Upon arriving at HSHC, I was given a medical exam, which revealed I am FIV+. FIV is a virus found only in cats that can lower a cat's immune system. I can live a long, happy life- even with FIV- cats-with regular vet visits, a healthy diet, and an indoor-only lifestyle. Although it was a blow to my ego to have to come to the shelter, I got to move to the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC) on July 31. This place is the bomb! I love it here because of the number of great hiding/napping spots, the big windows, the meals, and the kind and loving staff. I admit that I am not a big fan of PDAs. I will approach my owner to solicit attention, enjoy some petting and ear rubs for a short time, and then happily curl up near him. I guess you would say I am an independent fellow who likes to initiate petting sessions. I will feel safe, comfortable, and trusting if my owner will respect my personal boundaries. My favorite things include Temptations Surfers Delight treats, short petting sessions, and playing with wand toys with my owner. I groom myself very well as I like to look my best. Remember, I like to do my own thing. I know I will make a great couch cat. 8-25-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
