I am so glad the interviewer lady (IL) came to talk with me so I could explain my side of the story! First of all, I am a 4-year, 6-months old, male, neutered, orange and white DSH cat, weighing 12.4 pounds. My owner found me as a stray cat, and I lived with her for two years. Back on February 7, 2026, I was hit by a car, resulting in a broken pelvis. I was not given surgery, but I have been on pain medication ever since. My owner kept me in a large dog crate, with no litter box. I was let out to go to the litter box, but sometimes I couldn't wait and went in the crate. I was surrendered to the HSHC on July 11, 26. I have always been an active, curious, interactive cat, and when I was outside the crate, I would open cabinet doors and get into things. This was another reason I was kept in a crate. Boy! I couldn't win. With a cat like me, I need plenty of interactive playtime with my owner. Toys that I can chase, pounce on, and bite will help give me the stimulation and socialization I need. My owners reported that I have some body sensitivities in my back legs, lower back, and tail. Meaning I get upset if these areas are touched. But in my defense, if you had a fractured pelvis, I think you might not want to be touched there. The funny thing is, yesterday the interviewer lady (IL) came to visit me. She opened my door, and I went right up to her with some head butts. Then I decided to climb into her lap, rub my face against hers, reposition myself so she could pet me all over. I wish she would have stayed holding me for the rest of the day. She was very gentle with me, and I kept giving her nose kisses, trilling, and purring loudly! She was so charmed by my sweet personality; I think I could have talked her into spending the night! Please come to the HSHC to meet me and give me a look-see! 9-1-26
