Description Romeo
Romeo's Compatibility:
Dogs – Happy to meet dog friends
Cats – Prefers a feline-free home
Kids – Yes

Here's a little secret about Romeo: the dog you meet in his kennel isn't the whole story. Spend an afternoon with him out in the world and a calmer, happier boy shows up, the one who's been in there all along.

Romeo recently got to trade the shelter for a real day out, and he was a total gentleman for the trip. He settled into the car like he'd done it a hundred times and even stretched out for part of the drive. On his walk, he found his confidence fast and eased right into a nice, relaxed stride. Come picnic time, he waited politely for his snacks and never once begged or snatched, which is more than we can say for some of us. For the record, chicken strips and duck jerky rank high on his list, and his first DQ pup cup may have changed his life! And then, this usually reserved boy leaned right in for snuggles and kisses like he'd been saving them up.

That's Romeo when he feels safe: a mellow, happy sweetheart who's so ready to be somebody's guy. He's a friendly, curious pup who wants to be part of whatever's happening, with a goofy streak that makes him a lot of fun to be with. He already has some really nice manners, and he lights up for the person who wants to keep building on them, because to Romeo, learning something new next to you is just another way to hang out together.

The dog who showed up on that day out is the real Romeo, and he's ready to be that guy every single day. Take him home and let him finally be that guy.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
