Brooklyn is a 7-year-old, 60-pound sweetheart who has been with her previous family since she was a puppy. She's a loyal, affectionate girl who loves being right by your side (or even better, sharing the bed!).

Brooklyn enjoys the simple joys in life like tasty treats (peanut butter, strawberries, and salmon are her faves!), playing with toys, and spending time with her family. She previously lived with children ages 11 and 16 and did great with them. She's also lived alongside another dog in the home and has had positive play interactions with neighborhood dogs.

Brooklyn is fully housebroken and does well being left alone at home as long as she has some enrichment like toys or a TV for company. She's comfortable in a crate if needed and will settle in after a little initial "complaining."

Brooklyn can be a bit shy in unfamiliar situations and appreciates slow introductions to new people and environments, allowing her time to feel safe and build trust at her own pace. She forms deep bonds with her people and looks to them for reassurance and to feel safe and secure. Because of this, Brooklyn would thrive with a patient, experienced adopter who understands the importance of reading her cues and giving her the space she needs while adjusting. She is recommended for a home with children 12 years and older who can respect her boundaries and help her continue to build confidence.

Brooklyn has so much love to give and will thrive in a home that appreciates her gentle, loyal nature. In return, she'll be a devoted companion who just wants to be by your side.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
