That owner described me as friendly, affectionate, and playful. Back then, my name was Chanel. I will tell you what I know about Harper, since he staged a boycott of talking with the interviewer lady (IL), whom I found perfectly lovely and not at all a busybody, as Harper said. Harper was a stray cat brought to the HSHC on August 5, 2013, when he was two years old. My owner adopted him in September 2013. I can't tell you anything about his previous life, but he has always been shy. During his medical exam, Harper found out he had ear infections in both ears. He has recovered nicely since then. He is already neutered and litterbox trained. He does have this little quirk about needing plenty of alone time to settle into a new place. If you are lucky enough to adopt us, he will probably take longer to adjust than I will. I am actually a social butterfly, and I love to talk, explore, and get up close and personal with everyone. I'm a chatty catty! By the way, we were adopted in April, but 3 days later, she returned us to the shelter due to a lack of commitment. Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
