Lilac
Dogs – Let's meet!
Cats – TBD
Kids – Yes
Lilac is a Treeing Walker Coonhound, which means that voice of hers is not a bug, it's a feature, and the groomer who gave her a bath recently put it best: she said Lilac has a lovely voice and is so fun and spunky that it's hard to believe she's nine years old.
She's happiest outside, which makes her a perfect fit for someone with land, a farm, or just a lifestyle that keeps them outdoors a lot. She's sweet, easy to handle, and the kind of girl who will make every single day a little more interesting just by being in it.
Lilac also has some schooling under her collar. She's been working with local students through Paws & Think's Youth-Canine program, which runs right here at HSHC in partnership with the Fishers Youth Assistance Program, where kids help shelter dogs practice their skills with positive reinforcement and the dogs quietly teach the kids a few things about patience and confidence in return.
Lilac is ready for a home that matches her spirit. Come meet her and hear for yourself!

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
