At 13.9 pounds, I know I should slim down, but food is just so tempting! I am a big fellow, but I'm active and playful! I live in the Roaming Room with some other black cats. I have an interesting history. I was a stray 11-month-old kitten in March 2019. I was adopted in April, but returned to the HSHC 5 days later. Some of my photos were taken at the old location, in our outdoor Catio. Then I was adopted at the end of April, and I was with that owner for 7 years. I was surrendered on June 13, 2026, due to my owner's failing health.
I am now 8-years, 5-months old. Whenever the interviewer lady (IL) visits me, I am one of the first cats to greet her, rub against her leg, and ask to be petted. She watched me mingle with the other cats, touching noses with Luna, sniffing the other cats' behinds, and exploring every inch of the room. I am an active, energetic boy who enjoys roughhousing and interactive play. I can get carried away in my enthusiasm for the game. When I get overstimulated, I clearly communicate my need to be left alone. That is why the HSHC recommends that I will do best in a home where the children are 12 or older. I need humans who can recognize my feline body language and accept my boundaries. I take pleasure in playing with my owners, sleeping with them at night, and generally hanging out together. Please provide at least three litter boxes, one on each floor and/or at opposite ends of the home, and have them cleaned daily to ensure there is always a clean litter box ready for me to use. Because I have been to the HSHC three times, I am considered a BAP-Behavior Approval Process. This means we have to meet a few times to make sure we are compatible and that I won't be back. My second owner is the one who named me Fang, but I prefer Moriarti. 8-15-26
Important Notice: A “meet and greet” with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas. We encourage bringing your family and current dogs, especially if traveling from afar. Cats are not required for a meet and greet.
Adoption Hours: Daily 12-5PM, closed Wednesdays. No appointment needed, unless the dog or cat is in foster! Apply and then call us at 317-773-4974 to set up a meet and greet with an pet in foster care.
Dog Adoption Fees:
*The age on the card is rounded up
- Under 1 year: $200
- 1-4 years: $100
- 5-9 years: $55
- 10+ years: $35
*The non-refundable hold fee is $40.

Cat Adoption Fees:
- Under 1 year: $100
- 1-4 years: $65
- 5-9 years: $35
- 10+ years: $25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
