Bulbasaur (in Foster)
If you are confused about my name, I was too. Bulbasaur is a Pokémon character. I am a 4-1/2-year-old Calico cat (not green at all), 12.1 pounds, spayed, and litterbox trained. I was just a one-month-old kitten when I was brought to the HSHC on June 13, 2022. You can see how adorable I was in my photo. I was adopted the next month and lived with my owner until September 1, 2026, when the Noblesville Police Department seized me from her. Sadly, I was fearful, nervous, and stressed when I first arrived. Being in a cage and meeting all new people was such a big change that I hissed, swatted, and tried to run away. I was so unhappy at the shelter that they moved me into a foster home on October 11. I really fell for my foster mom (FM) and started feeling comfortable and safe very soon. She sent the following A+ report card about me to the interviewer (IL).
My litter box skills are perfect, and I always "cover up".
I am never destructive! I love exploring her whole house. I am extremely affectionate and hate it when she stops petting me.
I was a little shy when I first moved in, and if someone approaches me quickly, it startles me. But I soon warm up and become outgoing.
As for other animals, children, or strangers, she thinks I would do fine with children, is initially hesitant with strangers, and she doesn't know how I'd feel about other pets.
My owner emphasized that I am a born lap-cat! I'm very friendly, super cuddly, and all that good stuff.
I love mealtimes, and I will eat anything she gives me. But the HSHC medical staff says I need to lose some weight.
My most adorable quirk is that I constantly crave attention, affection, and pets. My courage and willingness to be out with the family have progressed very quickly. My FM thinks I have improved so much that I would settle in with just about anyone.
The HSHC staff would like my new forever family to give me a small, safe space in their house where I can become accustomed to all the big changes. The IL thinks a gentle, patient approach to me will win my trust and confidence. 10-17-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
