Description Snickers Mini
Snickers Mini
Despite my name, I am not a candy bar, nor am I mini-sized. I weigh 11.3 pounds, which is a smidge too much, and I am nearly 9-years-old. But I do have a very pretty face and a luxurious brown, black, and white medium-length coat. I have lived with my current owner for 4 years, but he surrendered me to the HSHC on June 16 due to a lack of commitment. You see, we just found out that I am a diabetic. My owner tried changing my diet and stress levels in the home, but could not afford the veterinarian program. The HSHC found that I am in diabetic remission, which means I no longer need daily checks of my blood sugar. I eat Fancy Feast Classics, which are known to help control diabetes. The HSHC staff can explain everything I need to keep my diabetes under control. When the interviewer lady (IL) opened my apartment door, I came up close to her face for a head butt. I then stood on her legs so she could pet me all over. Even my owner, who no longer wants me, told the HSHC staff that I am very affectionate and calm. I like to sit on your feet or lap. If I get scared, I will hide, usually under the bed or the couch. I am not a very active gal, and I don't get excited about toys. I do love some catnip! I prefer wet food, but I'll eat the dry stuff. Please try not to restrain me; I hate being held against my will. I lived successfully with a 9-year-old female cat, although we never played together. I lived with an 11- and a 12-year-old child, and I would sleep with them, cuddle with them, and let the kids "tug" on me and brush my hair. I don't recall ever living with a dog. My previous veterinarian prescribed a medicine to help control my stress levels. Having a pet with diabetes is not as difficult as you might think. And my sweet personality is a great reason to adopt me! 8-3-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
