About JadeMeet & Greet
Jade
You can settle an argument between the HSHC staff members. Looking at me, would you say I am a DLH or a DMH? Because my coat needs maintenance, I believe I am long-haired. I am 6-years-old, 7.7 pounds, spayed, with a grey-and-buff coat. I first arrived at the HSHC in June 2022 as a stray cat with 3 nursing kittens. That August, the kittens were adopted, and so was I. I lived with my owner for four years. She surrendered me back to the HSHC in July, 2026. The medical department discovered I had urinary crystals, which are extremely painful. I was placed on Hill's C/D Urinary prescription diet to promote better urinary health. This diet is designed to alter urine pH levels to reduce the risk of stone and crystal formation. I am now crystal-free!
In my previous home, I lived with another female cat. Although my owner told the staff we had altercations, she left the shelter before providing any details. The staff recommends slow introductions to any 4-legged family members. I should also have access to at least 2 litter boxes, more if you have any other cats. The interviewer lady (IL) told me I am a beautiful girl with a very fluffy, soft coat. I immediately approached her to ask for pets. I rubbed against her hand and face to let her know I enjoyed her touch. I am a curious, friendly girl, and I look forward to finding someone who understands that I need patience, a safe space to adjust to the changes, and the food that will keep me healthy. 9-15-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
