Description Gambit
Gambit, or maybe Rosebud
This situation sure isn't my first rodeo. Back in 2015, my owner surrendered me to the HSHC. He is the one who decided to declaw all four of my paws. I was adopted and lived with my next family for seven years. But they surrendered me back to the shelter on August 30. I am now 14-years-old and currently back at the cattery after living in a lovely foster home. Because my foster mom has some upcoming travel, she returned me and gave the interviewer lady (IL) some vital information about me. She felt that my name was not pretty enough for a girl like me, so she's been calling me Rosebud. You may notice that my current weight is 19 pounds, which is much more than I ever meant to be. She said that I am large, lovely, sweet-natured, and affectionate. She also points out that
what I lack in athleticism, I make up for in love. I have a resounding purr, especially when I am being brushed, petted, and touched. When I arrived at her home, I was filthy, unbrushed, with mats and a severe flea infestation. My size prevents me from effectively grooming myself, so FM has been wiping me down with pet wipes or a wet washcloth.  If I were to lose weight, I know I could do a better job of keeping myself tidy. I'm good about using the litter box, but I would appreciate a box with lower sides to make entry and exit easier. I am grateful for any attention and love I receive. FM says I would make a great companion to someone in a quiet household. Please don't make me wait so long for a forever home. Now that I've enjoyed living with my FM, the days are lonely here. 9-24-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
