About Sparky (in Foster)Meet & Greet
Sparky (in Foster)
If you're looking for a best friend who will greet you at the door, follow you from room to room, and remind you every day how loved you are, I think we should meet. Now, I realize that I am considered a senior cat at 12-years-old, and a little on the portly side at 14.46 pounds. So many of you won't give me a second thought. You'd be wrong! Consider my situation on July 15. I was found alone beside a storm drain with burns on my paws, the backs of my legs, and even my lips. I was scared and hurting. A Hamilton County Sheriff's Department Officer found me and brought me to the HSHC. After being examined and treated with the appropriate medications, the HSHC contacted a foster mom to take me home with her. Even though I was still not feeling well, when my foster mom picked me up, I tucked my face into her chest because somehow I knew I was finally safe. After that, I had to fight through an upper respiratory infection, but now I'm healthy, happy, and ready for the life I've always deserved. I'm a pretty confident guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. My foster mom calls me a gentle giant. I love giving headbutts to ask for pets, curling up in laps, and snuggling whenever you'll let me. Honestly, if you're awake, I'd rather spend time with you than nap. I have a cozy spot of my own, but why would I hang out there when my favorite humans are around? I get along well with other cats. I'm a little bit of an alpha, but don't worry-I'm not a bully. I simply want everyone to know I'm the handsome one in charge! Even though I have my own litter box, I gladly share a litter box with my foster brother like a gentleman. I have a healthy appetite…maybe a little too healthy. If you leave your dinner unattended, don't be surprised if I stop by to see if you're planning to share. I think someone must have shown me love through food once upon a time, and I haven't forgotten it. I love meeting people and am a very trusting kitty. I haven't met any dogs or little kids yet, so I'm not sure how I'd feel about them, but I've done great with other cats. I don't let my past define me. I choose love every single day. All I want is someone to love back. I'll be waiting at the door when you come home, curled up beside you when you relax, and right behind you wherever life takes us. Do you think maybe we could be a family? 8-18-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
