About OctoberMeet & Greet
October
Being a stray cat who arrived at the HSHC on October 24 and having a predominantly orange coat are likely the reasons I was named October. But hey, it's a great name! I am 5-years-old, already neutered, and know my way around a litter box. I know that I had an owner at one time, but so far, no one has shown up to claim me. When the medical staff examined me, they noted that I was sniffly and my nose was swollen and rather bloody. They suspected it was due to blunt force trauma. But I can't tell them how it happened. By now, my nose is back to normal, and I have regained my inordinately handsome face. I am a tall drink of water and weigh 11.8 pounds. I am not just a dreamboat; I am also friendly, affectionate, and curious. When the interviewer lady (IL) stopped by to talk to me, I went right up to her, gave her some nose kisses, and rubbed my head against hers. She was putty in my paws! Life in the shelter can be a bit stressful, and sometimes I don't feel like being sociable. Just to let my new owner know, I think I will need a small space I can go to when I feel overwhelmed. You will need to be patient with me while I adjust to all the changes in my life. My self-confidence could use a little improvement. But once I feel at home and comfortable, my charm and personality will shine through. 12-10-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
