I was named after the Sword Art Online anime character. I am not familiar with him either, but to clarify, I am a four-year-old, slightly chubby, neutered male cat-and I do not carry a sword. I have lived with three male boxers, who are certainly energetic companions. I also shared my home with a seven-year-old child, and we got along well. When I was surrendered to HSHC on May 28, my owner described me as moderately active: I engage in brief periods of the zoomies followed by naps. I am fond of Temptation treats, cardboard boxes, spending time in the same room as my people, and choosing when to sit on your lap. I am not particular about litter types, and my litter box habits are excellent. I am also in good health. On July 15, I moved to the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC), where I have discovered several ideal napping spots. According to the HSHC medical staff, I am not highly social and prefer to initiate interactions. However, once I trust someone, I can be affectionate. The interviewer lady (IL) spoke with me both in the Cattery and at SKCC. I allowed her to pet me, though I was in the midst of my second morning nap and did not wish to move. This is my first experience living with other cats. If they respect my space, I coexist well. I hope to find a forever home that understands my need to initiate contact, as this will make the transition smoother. You can help build my trust and confidence by providing a small, safe space for me to decompress and by engaging me in interactive play with a fishing pole toy or similar items I can chase. If you expect me to carry a sword, we will need to discuss this, as I lack opposable thumbs. 8-8-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
