Meet Gandalf! This 9-year-old German Shepherd and Boxer mix has earned every bit of his distinguished gray muzzle and the wisdom that comes with it. He's 71 pounds of gentle, easygoing sweetness who leans right into every person he meets.
Gandalf recently had a spa day, and our groomer is still talking about it. He climbed into the bathtub all by himself and stood like a perfect gentleman for his nail trim. He even enjoyed the blow dry, which might make him the most agreeable client in salon history. Hand him a soft blanket or a plush toy and you'll have a friend for life.
He aced his behavior assessment and shares his food and toys politely. Gandalf likes to make new dog friends slowly and one at a time, so if you have a pup at home, bring them along for a meet and greet.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
