Provide Fridge (in Foster)
With a Loving Home

I Googled all the funny fridge names and came up with some goodies-Chilly Billy, Chillbert, and Captain Coolbox. Just in case you would like to rename me when you adopt me! I am 11-years-old, 12.8 lbs., litter box trained, already spayed, and my front paws were declawed years ago. I was adopted 6 years ago from a shelter in Tennessee. My owner has loved me very much, but her health has suffered, and she can no longer keep me. I have had to live in an extra-large dog kennel for the past three months. On April 29, she surrendered me to HSHC. She reported that I am a very desirable cat, very affectionate, and love to be held and petted. I have lived with 2-and 3-year-old children, and I was always gentle and playful with them. I am not very active because I like lounging around. I have no anxiety about going to the Vet. I have a positive history with other cats and dogs, but I will need a long, gradual introduction to new pets. I am sensitive about my paws and prefer that they be left alone. I am a Tidy Cat 24/7 Odor Control fan, and I like having a LARGE litter box. I sound pretty perfect, don't you agree? I spent a month in a foster home with a resident cat. She did not like me one bit and would hiss and growl at me. Pretty soon, I began to hiss and growl back at her. I was returned to the shelter on June 28 because my foster mom did not handle our introduction very well. The HSHC staff will provide you with a plan for making the transition a success. The interviewer lady (IL) stopped by to talk with me. I went right up to her, pushed my head into her hand, and encouraged her to pet me. I leaned into her and began making happy chirping noises. She admired my grey-and-buff tabby markings and outgoing personality. She thinks I will find the perfect home with an owner who understands how to help me make friends with their animals. 6-30-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
