Gender: Female
Lived with Children: No
Description Crescent (in Foster)
Crescent
I'm a little embarrassed to be telling you what my foster mom (FM) has said about me. I don't usually toot my own horn, but she thinks I'm pretty terrific! To quote her, "Crescent is the most lovable, calm cat." I was transferred to HSHC from IACS on April 11, along with six other cats, and I had hair loss on my lower abdomen and an upper respiratory infection. I spent some time in the medical unit before moving to my foster home on May 14. Since then, I have been feeling much improved and am quite healthy now. I am 3-years-old, weigh 5.9 pounds, and have a short-haired coat of brown and black with tabby stripes. My latest photos were taken by FM. I'll cut to the chase and tell you that FM thinks anyone who adopts me will be rewarded with love and affection. I use the litter box enthusiastically and faithfully. I am curious and love exploring my territory. I am a bit cautious around new people, but once I know they pose no danger to me, I will rub my face against them to mark them as mine! I am a playful, fun-loving girl. I am mad about playing with interactive toys that require a person to be on the other end, ie, wand toys and laser pointers. What a hoot! I will happily play with new people that I have approved. I would describe myself as a very friendly cat but not strictly a dyed-in-the-wool lap cat. I want to be near my people and receive their attention through pets and scratches. When I trust you, I will show you my belly for pets! FM says I have never hissed, swatted, or shown any aggression. Young children tend to scare me with their unpredictable movements and noises, so older kids who understand cats are fine in my book. Even though she will miss me very much, she feels that I am fully socialized and ready for a forever home. I look forward to the next chapter of my life! 7-6-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
