Buddy Romy
Hey there! I have googled my name to see what it might mean, and I've gotten nowhere. So you can call me Buddy or Bud if you want to. I am a 1-year-old male DSH with a grey, buff, and white coat. The man who found me a month ago cannot keep me, so he surrendered me to the HSHC in early June. While living as a stray cat, I developed an ear infection in both ears and an upper respiratory infection. Tests also revealed I had crystals in my urine, which is very painful. I contracted Coccidia, a microscopic, single-celled parasite that infects the intestinal lining of cats. I also had roundworms. Finally, I found out that I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a virus found only in cats that can lower a cat's immune system. I can live a long, happy life, even with FIV negative cats, with regular vet visits, a healthy diet, and an indoor-only lifestyle. Therefore, I've spent a good deal of time in Sick Bay, getting medicine and TLC. I am now healthy and living in Cattery 1. My owner said that I am as playful as a kitten much of the time. When you hold me, I become a wiggle-butt. I am not a door darter, and I am a very talkative fellow. I had a visit with a potential adopter, and I was friendly and very motivated by treats. I love being petted, and I do not care for wand toys. The interviewer lady (IL) and I had a great time the other day, and I let her pet me all over. She told me I am a very handsome boy with a sweet personality. My next goal is to find the person who will become my new best friend. 8-10-26
