Our Story

The Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization and one of the only open-admission, truly no-kill shelter in the country.  We serve as both the animal control facility and Humane Society for Hamilton County.

Ours is a casual work environment where you will be surrounded by unconditional love every moment of the day.  HSHC offers full-time employees a complete benefits package after 90 days of employment including medical, dental and generous paid time off and vacation benefits upon eligibility.  Our employees also receive a significant discount on vaccines, medications, preventative care and lab work for their personal pets!

Applicant Guidelines

Age

You must be 18 years of age or older.

Transporation

You must have reliable transportation to and from the shelter.

Drug Tested

You must pass a pre-employment drug screen (this may be a condition of continuing employment as well).

Fit for Duty

You must be able to work around cats and dogs (allergies should be controlled) and able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs (if required for your job).
