Description Sox (at Smitten Kitten)
Sox
You'll have to forgive me if I don't shower you with meows and pleas for attention. I'm still trying to figure out what has happened to me. I was brought to HSHC as a stray on May 24 after being found in Westfield. I was never spayed, so it is a mystery as to whether I am truly a stray outdoor cat, a cat that was dumped, or a cat that escaped. No one came to the shelter looking for me, but this means I'm ready and available for a new chapter! I am thought to be 5-years-old, now spayed, and have bounced back from an upper respiratory infection. I am an affectionate, but cautious, girl, with brown and black tabby markings and a white nose, throat, and paws. My nose is bubblegum pink, according to the interviewer lady (IL), who spent some time with me. At first, I hesitated to interact with her, but she kept visiting me and complimenting me for my appearance, so I gave in and let her pet me-all over! I began by giving her head butts and changing position to give her complete access for pets. She was smitten when she noticed that I have a Bob-tail. The medical staff said that I was probably born without a tail. Another point in my favor- I'm unique. I admit that I am a bit of a conundrum: I can be grumpy, but I can also be super sweet. I think the longer I get to know a person, the more affectionate and loving I become. The IL tells me that the right person will come to the shelter, see my charm and potential for affection, and welcome me into a loving home. My future feels bright, and I'm hopeful for the right person to come along! 6-20-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
