I have now experienced three types of lifestyles. The home where I grew up was with an older lady, where it was quiet, calm, and very predictable. When my owner could no longer care for me, I was adopted by a family with five kids and five cats! Talk about a culture shock. When I first arrived, I was put into a room with another cat-a perfect stranger. Then I was moved to a room by myself, but I had to leave this room to get to my food, water, and litter boxes. The very thought of traveling from safety to the rest of the house, the cats, and the kids was so overwhelming that I resorted to hissing, swatting, and running away to avoid contact. I lived in my second home for about 5 weeks before being surrendered to HSHC on April 7, 2026. My initial medical exam revealed I had painful urinary crystals and a UTI. I was given medicine and a diet designed to support my urinary health and reduce the formation of crystals. I then spent time living in the cattery, in a 2-room apartment, learning to relax and accept attention from the staff and volunteers. Because I was still feeling a smidge of anxiety, I moved into a foster home on May 13, and my life suddenly became 100% better. My litter box skills are excellent. Although I am still very reluctant to engage in activity with the resident cats, I am very happy spending time with my foster mom and dad (FM, FD). I much prefer humans. I adore being petted and brushed, and I don't mind if you must handle me. I have a great appetite, and catnip is AMAZING! My FM says it is so cute when I push my face against hers to get pets. I am a grey, buff, and white DSH with tabby markings. I am spayed and have A+ litter box skills. I will need a lengthy adjustment period when I move to my new home. Please give me a small safe space with everything I need, where I can slowly get to know you. 6-28-26
