Dani
(Needs a Foster)

Hello! I was about 1-year-old when I was brought to the HSHC as a stray kitty in November 2019. Because I was nervous and fearful while in the shelter cattery, I went to a foster home. It took me a few days to feel comfortable enough to seek attention and affection. I found fast movements and loud noises to be startling and made me uneasy. Although timid at first, I became friendly and eager to be with my people. My foster mom said I was so much happier when staying at her home! She felt I would thrive in a home with older children who would respect my space and personal boundaries. She also pointed out that I get along great with other cats and would love to have a playmate. I love playing with interactive toys like a laser pointer and using a scratching post. I was ready to return to the shelter and I was adopted in March. We all thought this would be the beginning of my happily ever after. The mystery is, in April, the Elwood Animal Shelter transferred me back to the HSHC when they saw that I had come from HSHC. So whoever adopted me surrendered me to Elwood instead of HSHC. Who knows why, but I was welcomed back. I met with the interviewer lady (IL) the other day, and we hit it off so well. I couldn't help but purr my heart out while she rubbed my head, ears, and scratched my chin. She told me I was a real charmer and would find my new family very soon. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle companion, I would love the chance to be part of your life! I am very food-motivated, completely litter-box trained, already spayed, and ready to join a loving home. If you can give me time to adjust and lots of affection, please consider adopting me-I am ready to be your devoted companion kitty. 5-30-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
