Clancy
In case you read Nidalee's interview, you may not be aware of the rough life I have also had. I am 1-year, 8-months old, and I have been terrified ever since the HSHC staff found Nidalee and me abandoned in a cat carrier on their property. I'm not too proud to tell you I have had virtually no kitten education, and being with strange people in a strange place gives me the heebie-jeebies. Going through all the steps to be medically examined was a nightmare for me. I was not neutered when I arrived, but this was done on April 13. It's a safe bet that we have never been given the loving care that an owner provides for his pet. Nidalee gave birth to 4 kittens on April 12, so I am likely the father of those kittens. Sadly, they did not make it. I moved into the Roaming Room on April 30, which was a big relief for me. I was able to stay cozy inside a soft Kitty Kasa and hide as long as I wanted. When the interviewer lady (IL) came to see me, I stayed in place and didn't even sniff her finger. The (IL) has tried many times to get me to talk with her. But I am always hiding from her questions. Nidalee moved into the Roaming Room on June 19, and I have been so much happier and more relaxed with her company. Her presence has given me the courage to venture out of my hiding places. We often curl up together in one small Kitty Kasa just because it feels great! Because the HSHC staff considers me undersocialized, moving to a new forever home will require giving me a lengthy adjustment period. I need a patient, understanding owner who will allow me to settle in at my own pace. Using calming aids, interactive toys, and high-value treats will help build my confidence level. Even though Nidalee and I don't have to be adopted together, I know that we provide a sense of security and comfort to each other. If you would like to make two cats very happy, you could adopt both of us. 6-29-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
