Pimento
I felt enormous relief when a kind lady brought my four kittens and me to the HSHC after finding us in Westfield. My babies were born in March, and it was hard for me to keep track of them since they were four months old. They have all found their forever homes, so I don't have to worry. The hard part was when the medical staff examined me and saw that I had a nasty eye infection in both eyes, but the right eye looked awful! I was given medication to help with the infection. I also had an upper respiratory infection, so I was feeling pretty punk. The veterinarian said that my conjunctivitis was a result of a herpes virus infection. Even though my right eye will never fully recover, my left eye has improved significantly. I can see and function very well. I am a grateful 3-year-old DSH with a Torbie-colored coat (brown, black, orange). Due to my illness, I have not yet been spayed. But I am a very gentle, friendly girl. When the interviewer lady (IL) came to see me, I was fast asleep. But she was quiet when she woke me and extended her hand for me to smell. I stretched and looked at her curiously before giving her a sniff. I encouraged her to pet me, and I really enjoyed having my cheeks stroked and my chin rubbed. I stayed in my bed, but I turned my head all around to make it easier to rub all the right places. I began to purr my approval softly. The IL told me I was such a sweet little girl, as I weigh only 7.5 pounds. She watched as I used my litter box perfectly. She then told me I would make a wonderful companion for some lucky person. That is giving me hope for the future! I hope my "bad" eye doesn't keep someone from falling in love with me. 9-15-26
