Despite our names sounding a little Halloweeny, we are both very sweet-natured cats with loving personalities. Spooky is an inky-black, 10-years-old DLH girl, and Hook is a white and brown 9-year-old DLH boy. We are as bonded as any two cats can be, even though we both came from different rescues. Of course, we have both been altered and are excellent litter box users. Hook has a couple of differences. First, I am blind. Even if I look directly at you, I cannot see you. But my sense of hearing makes it easy to tell where you are. I can live a happy, safe, and independent life with a few adjustments to my environment and routine. I will need my food and water bowls, the litter box, bedding, and favorite resting places in the same locations so I can easily navigate using memory, smell, and touch. Please don't rearrange furniture or leave obstacles on the floor. And make sure hazards such as stairs, pools, fireplaces, and open balconies are blocked off. Always call my name before you come near or touch me so I don't jump out of my skin! I need interactive toys that make noise or have a strong scent. The other difference from Spooky is that my front paws were declawed at some point. Spooky is the social butterfly of our duo. While we are both loving, she is more outgoing and seeks attention. Our owner of 8 years surrendered us to the HSHC on July 20th. And on July 31, we moved to the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC). It's been terrific! Hook has found a couch that he loves to curl up in so he can greet folks when they sit down. And Spooky can roam the entire place, seeking pets from the many visitors. Our owner told the HSHC that we have never been to the veterinarian, that we are excellent mousers, that we have lived successfully with 2 big dogs, and that we have enjoyed our time with the grandchildren. The reason he gave us up is that his fiancée is moving in and is allergic to cats. So if you would like to add two lovely cats to your home, we are available! 8-25-26
