I was so relieved to have a visitor that when the interviewer lady (IL) opened my door, I gave her about 1000 head butts! I am basically a glutton for affection, attention, and pets. My owner adopted me from Indianapolis Humane Society, and I lived with her for 4 years. But she surrendered me to the Humane Society for Hamilton County on June 7. I am now 6-years-old, weigh 9 lbs., am spayed, and my front paws were declawed years ago. Although my owner might disagree, I am truly a sweet-natured girl who wanted the IL to keep petting me even though I was eating. My owner said I squirm to get away, but I couldn't get enough of the IL's attention. I leaned my head against her shoulder and purred. As you can see in my photos, I am a true redhead. You may have heard that female orange cats are rare. Only one in five orange cats is indeed female. We female orange cats are just as affectionate, playful, and curious as males, according to Vet Explains Pets. We often have a bold, adventurous personality and are popular in pop culture (e.g., Garfield, Puss in Boots). Our unique coloring also makes us stand out in shelters, where we can be in high demand. I can be shy and a little stand-offish when I first meet someone. I am sensitive to big changes in my life. In the last two years of my life, I've been feeling stressed. During my examination at the HSHC, they learned that I had crystals in my urine, which are extremely painful. In my former home, I had only one litterbox, and it was one of those robotic kinds. They did X-rays of my paws, and luckily I had no bone fragments in my paws. But declawed paws still hurt. To help promote a healthy urinary tract/bladder, I was given Hill's C/D kibble and canned food. The medical staff told me that stress can make me sick, so I am hoping for a loving, patient owner who will give me a small safe place where I can go to decompress and relax. Having 3 litter boxes, one on each level of the home, will make life much easier on me. The HSHC staff will provide you with a plan to make my transition to your home simple and successful.
