Description Marley (in Foster)
Marley
Have you ever heard of the condition heterochromia? Neither had I, but that is what they call it when you have one green eye and one blue eye. I think it's my best feature. I am a 9-year-old, female DSH with a white coat and brown tabby markings. I am spayed and use my litterbox properly. My roommate Winston and I surrendered to HSHC on May 30 because our owner was moving. Although Winston and I are not bonded, we have lived with dogs and 18- and 11-year-olds. I am still pretty playful and enjoy the toys I can chase and catch. My owner had an annoying habit of spraying us with a water bottle. I think there are much better ways to let me know you don't want me to do something. I have good manners and am very friendly with the people I know. However, I can be shy with new folks. Coming to the shelter, I have had some difficulty getting comfortable in the cattery. This means I will need plenty of time to settle in and feel safe in my new home. The medical department has noticed a serious case of flea dermatitis, with scabs from the top of my head to my tail, so my new family must ensure I receive monthly flea prevention. When I checked in, my left eye (the blue one) was a bit irritated, and I had medicine applied. My eye is now healthy. Even though being examined and taken out of my cage frightened me, the staff wrote down that I am incredibly sweet. If you provide me with a small, safe space with everything I need, I can use it as my headquarters while I adjust to all the changes in my new home. The interviewer lady (IL) and I had a lovely session of petting, scratching, and rubbing my head, chin, and neck. I pushed my head into her hand to make sure she wouldn't stop. When she finally had to leave, I pressed my head against the door to coax her back. I am eagerly awaiting the day when I get to leave the shelter and live with my new forever family. 7-4-26
