The Disney Princess and the Frog movie inspired my name, and I like feeling like a princess. I was first surrendered to the HSHC on January 7 because my owner was moving and could not take me along. I had lived with him for 9 years. I am now 9-years, 6-months old. I was adopted in April, but after 2 weeks I was returned to the shelter. My owner said it was not a good fit. Hey, in my defense, two weeks is hardly enough time for a cat to feel comfortable, safe, and confident. My owners reported that I had access to one litter box in my upstairs room. They gave me three baths while I lived with them. My owner reported that he grabbed me by my neck or scruff, and I meowed during the whole process.. During my medical examination on my return to HSHC, the Veterinarian Gebolys, confirmed I had 4 broken ribs & bruising. My owner said that the only time I might have fallen was when I flipped after making contact with the owner's hand when taking me to the bathroom. He noticed blood coming from my mouth. He thought my tooth had broken. But he couldn't explain what happened. My future adopters should be aware that I may have sensitivities on the left side of my ribcage due to this previous injury. Now that I am back in the cattery, I've had plenty of TLC. I had been overweight at 17.7 pounds, but since being on a diet, I have slimmed down to 14.8 pounds! I am still a scaredy-cat at vet visits, which made it hard when I developed an upper respiratory infection. Thankfully, the staff found a way to treat me, and I recovered. When the interviewer lady (IL) first tried to talk to me in March, I wasn't interested, but during her next visit, I was more sociable. I enjoyed her petting, especially with the back scratcher, and flopped onto my side for chin and cheek rubs. She complimented my pretty black-and-white DSH looks, my white scarf, and long whiskers. I'm already spayed and house-trained. It is recommended that my new family give me a lengthy transition period while I adjust to my new home. This transition can take several weeks to months, as I have a hard time adjusting to change. Give me a small place to start my adjustment period (a bathroom or a bedroom). Provide me with calming aids and interactive play sessions with toys I can chase and catch to help build my trust, comfort, and confidence levels. 8-5-26
