Description Bilbo
Bilbo
Can you believe I was brought to the HSHC as a 2-month-old kitten in 2017? Look at my cute baby photo! I was adopted and lived with my family for 9 years, all my life. I was surrendered on May 19, due to my anxiety with the kids. The 3-year-old and 1-year-old, with their activity and noise level, were just too much for me to handle. When they would leave the door open, I would dash outside to get away. I came back when I felt the coast was clear. My owner had my front paws declawed when I was just a kitten. So this means I was dealing with the pain in my paws and the stress of living with young children. I lived happily with a 7-year-old Great Pyrenees, and I even ended up being the leader of our pack. Since arriving at the HSHC, I have been examined by the medical team, and the wound on my left hip is healing, as are the small scabs on my head. I am a healthy boy, but showing signs of stress. It has taken me a while, but I am now feeling more comfortable and interested in engaging with the staff and volunteers. I even met with a potential adopter and very sweetly interacted with him. Physically, I am more of a couch potato these days, exhibiting fewer zoomies than I used to. The interviewer lady (IL) found me lounging in my Kitty Kasa. I instantly let her begin petting me and rubbed my head against her hand. Those chin rubs were the best! The IL told me I was such a handsome blend of grey and buff tabby markings. She got a kick out of petting me and listening to my purr. I would love to find a home where the kids are all 10 years or older, with folks who will play with me using interactive toys (like wand toys, laser pointers, and things I can chase). This will help me bond with my people and develop my trust in them. I will thrive in a quiet home, with a consistent routine and kids who respect my need for personal space. 6-20-26
