I am one of those lucky cats that was born in care of the HSHC back in September 2016. I was adopted in December 2016 and have lived with my owner ever since. However, my owner just passed away, and her brother brought me back to HSHC. I am an inky black DSH girl, already spayed and litter box trained, with declawed front paws. My medical examination revealed that I had bone fragments in all of the toes on my front paws. This is very ouchy as you can imagine. I don't think I ever received proper socialization training as a kitten. For years in my previous home, I lived in a room by myself with minimal human interaction. Therefore, when I checked into the shelter, I was very stressed, and my anxiety prevented me from feeling comfortable in the cattery. I was pretty hissy and unhappy. On May 22, I moved into a foster home to help me relax and improve my confidence and bravery. I am much more social now. I returned to HSHC on June 10 to meet potential adopters. The first time the interviewer lady (IL) tried to talk with me, I was hiding under my pillow and would not even look at her. But the next time I came out of my Kasa to greet her. I gave her head butts and encouraged her to pet me. I truly enjoyed her massage of my head and neck. I could tell she loved hearing my loud purring while she caressed me. I believe my next home should be quiet and calm, and my owner must be patient and loving with me. It may take me a long time to show you my affectionate side, but I am very capable of being a sweet companion for you. 6-17-26
