Being the older kitty, I get to start off our interview with the interviewer lady (IL). My name is Foomf. Don't ask me what that means, because I don't know. I am a 13-year-old DSH Tortoiseshell female cat who was brought to the HSHC on February 19 by a Carmel Police Officer. My sister Marley accompanied me. She is 12 years, 10 months old, and is a solid grey DSH. We have both been spayed and are excellent users of the litter box. Our HSHC medical exams revealed that I was missing most of my upper teeth and my front left leg! (No information about this fact was shared with HSHC.) Marley was extremely stressed in the shelter and overgroomed to the point that she looked shaved, so they gave her some medicine to help with stress. But we were otherwise healthy and ready for a change. On February 28, we moved into a foster home and have been quite content and happy to be here. Our foster mom (FM) has been in touch with the interviewer lady (IL) so that she can publish our story to all the potential adoptive parents! FM has us pretty well figured out and is happy to report that we adjusted well to life in a home. Marley is definitely the more outgoing, while I prefer a bit of catnip and a nap. Our appetites are improving, and we enjoy having the run of the house, especially the sunroom. This is where we can catch all the bird, squirrel, and rabbit action through the windows. Yee-ha! We both enjoy being brushed and using the scratching post FM bought for us. As you might have guessed, Marley does not like to be in a room with the doors closed. But she LOVES jumping up to be on top of high places. Marley has been voted most likely to be a lap cat, but I sometimes get in FM's lap too. I'm known for my loud purring and finding cozy spots to take a nap. Having only three legs has not stopped me from running and jumping when the mood strikes. Marley is proud to say her coat is slowly growing back. FM has noticed how close we two kitties are and mentioned that we sometimes kiss by touching noses. If you are ready for a loving sister act (like in White Christmas), we will be waiting to hear from you. 3-13-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
