Description Wabi-sabi
Wabi-Sabi
Psychology Today says that the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi is about noticing and appreciating imperfection, impermanence, and the understated beauty in everyday life. As a 6-year-old stray cat now living at the HSHC in a cozy bed, I represent a good example of the term. I weigh only 5.9 pounds, and I have been spayed. The medical staff discovered I had several health issues. I had an upper respiratory infection, double ear infections, tummy troubles, a swelling on my face, and a wound on my left side near my hip. I'd say that I had plenty of imperfections, but was still an understated beauty. The medical team provided me with the medications and treatments I needed to feel good again. I can't tell you how long I have been a lost and homeless cat, but I am lucky to be at the shelter now. I am so petite that you might think I was just a kitten. I have plenty of playful energy, so interactive play sessions with you and a laser pointer or a string-on-a-pole toy are just what I need to keep me content. The interviewer lady (IL) thought I was as cute as a bug! I loved receiving all the pets and ear rubs she gave me. I had just returned from a Valentine's Day photo shoot, but I was still happy to accept her attentions. My black coat is splotched with areas of white, making me look like I have a mustache. If you believe giving a homeless cat a loving home is a way to appreciate understated beauty, I would like to set up an interview with you today! 2-11-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
