About Chester
Whew! Did anyone see that truck that hit me? Just kidding. I have no idea what hit me, causing blunt force trauma to my face, but it did a number on me! A kind man brought me to the HSHC on November 30, having found me with severe injuries to my face and a fractured jaw. My jaw needed to be wired shut for 6 weeks. It has been a long recovery with lots of surgery, medical treatment, medicine, and TLC. Because of the fracture's complexity, my jaw has healed slightly crooked. Whoops, there goes my modeling career. During my initial examination, my blood tests revealed I am FIV+. FIV is a virus found only in cats that can lower a cat's immune system. But with regular vet visits, a healthy diet, and an indoor-only lifestyle, this is no big deal! I am still able to eat well, play, and lead a typical, happy life, even with FIV- cats! Just after Christmas, I went to live in a foster home with super-duper foster parents (FPs). It has been delightful receiving so much loving attention. My FPs told the interviewer lady that I am a 4-year-old ginger cat with a gentle, affectionate nature who loves cuddling and spending time with us. It is a joy to have him in our home. He adores kneading biscuits with his big orange paws and loves nothing more than curling up on one of our laps, purring contentedly as he snuggles in for a warm, affectionate nap. Not only does he have impeccable litter box habits, but he also gets along well with our other cats. Whether we're enjoying our morning coffee or binge-watching Netflix, he's the perfect companion, always happy to snuggle and share quiet moments. Wouldn't you agree that this is an A+ report, making me deserving of a wonderful forever home? 2-3-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
