Description Carmen (in Foster)
Carmen
In early November, a kind lady found me in Noblesville and brought me to the HSHC. Sick with a URI, conjunctivitis, and ear infections, I first recovered in the medical unit. By December 5, I had moved into a foster home and quickly bonded with my foster mom (FM). Before sharing her impressions of me, here are my details: I am a 12-year-old, 8.4-pound, buff-and-white, short-haired cat, spayed, and perfectly housetrained. My FM calls me "a great, wonderful cat" and a "bold socialite"-never a "scardey cat." I am easy-going, confident, and friendly, and I enjoy interacting with everyone I meet. I don't hide from visitors. When the plumber came to fix the dishwasher, I hopped into the cabinet under the sink and went right up to him to inspect his tools and "supervise" the repair. I could be hired out as a professional cuddler! I always want to cuddle with FM, and my favorite activity is getting cozy under a blanket on the couch and watching TV with her. I have never shown any grouchy behaviors. She has woken me up, maneuvered me onto her lap, and I remain calm, basically molding to whatever position she puts me in! I may be partially deaf because I don't acknowledge when she calls my name. So I use my voice to stay connected. Sometimes I wander into the basement and feel "lost," so I'll call out. Once she finds me, I give her my signature high-pitched meow that clearly says, "You found me!" I manage the stairs with no problem, but I no longer jump up on high places. I have a large, adorable "tummy pouch" that limits my top speed to a charming waddle. I think you can see that my FM thinks I'm just about perfect. Why don't you come to the HSHC and talk to the Feline Care Specialists to learn even more about me? 1-5-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
