Description Baby Buttercup (in Foster)
Baby Buttercup
My Goodness! I was a lucky lady when a kind person found me and brought me to the HSHC. You see, I am a 12-year-old Tortoiseshell kitty who has known little love and affection. I was wearing a flea collar, but my owner never had me spayed. I have been on my own in the world for quite some time. I weigh only 4.5 pounds, which is truly underweight. When the medical staff checked me over, they found I had no teeth, live fleas, an eye infection, a URI, and that I tested positive for FIV. [FIV is a virus found only in cats that can lower a cat's immune system. I can live a long, happy life (even with FIV- cats) with regular vet visits, a healthy diet, and an indoor-only lifestyle.] Since I prefer being an indoor-only kitty, that is okay by me!. I received medication and am now feeling tip-top! I have been living with a foster mom (FM) who says I am an extremely sweet-natured, easy-going little cat. I may be the size of a kitten, but I am a senior. According to FM, I enjoy the simple life, for example, sleeping in a warm, cozy, safe place, cuddling on the couch with people, and I love to be pet. I use my litterbox faithfully. I eat only canned/wet food because I have no teeth. I love children (not all cats do!), and I am not bothered by loud noises. I would very much appreciate being in a loving family that does not expect me to be a rambunctious, energetic playmate, but rather a loveable snuggle buddy. 11-24-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
