About Snowflake
Hey there, what's up? My name is Snowflake, presumably because of my mostly white coat. I am a 2-1/2-year-old boy, 12.4 pounds, litter box trained, and neutered. The reason my owner allowed Police Officer Brubake to take me to the HSHC in early October was because of my anxiety, lack of confidence, and my poor reaction to change. I have lived with my owner my whole life, but a year ago, she brought a female cat home to live with us. Things were fine until she went away to be spayed, and when she returned, I took an immediate dislike of her. I also didn't like the boyfriend when he moved in. Going to the Vet has always been a pain in my neck. My reaction to these people and events has been hissing, swatting, and growling. The Feline Care Specialists said I am undersocialized and that I lack self-confidence when faced with change. I moved into a Roaming Room on November 15, and my attitude has improved since then. I like having places to hide when I feel nervous. And when I'm feeling brave, I love sitting or lying in a cat tree in the sunshine. The interviewer lady (IL) stopped by to see me yesterday, and I was asleep in a climber. But I barely opened my eyes when she began petting me and talking softly to me. I had no objection when she stroked my head and neck and even moved around to allow for more territory to pet. My personality has recently blossomed. I will require a patient, compassionate owner who will give me all the time I need to adjust to a new home. The IL saw my gentle, easy-going side during our visit. The HSHC staff can offer helpful tips to ensure my transition to your home is a success. 12-2-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
