About Belle
Don't be offended if I do not leave my little kitty house to visit with you. I am naturally shy, and being at the shelter still gives me the willies. I've only been here since October 7. Today, when the interviewer lady (IL) opened the door to my apartment, I poked my head out of the Kitty Kasa to sniff her hand. Then I scooted back to avoid looking at her. She was quiet but persistent, and pretty soon I found myself allowing her to pet my head and neck and give me chin scratches. It felt so good that I started drooling a bit. How embarrassing! She told me I was a beautiful girl with dark grey markings on snowy white fur. The IL realized that although I was enjoying her attentions, I was also trembling a little. The medical staff had noted that I was scared, trembling, and hiding on October 8, and very sweet but anxious on October 28. So, it's safe to say I have some stage fright. I lived with my owner my whole life since she bought me at a pet store 8 years ago. For the past 3 years, I have been living with two other cats. We all had to share one litter box, which any self-respecting cat will tell you is not enough. Every cat in a home should have two litter boxes that they do not share with any other cat. The HSHC staff will provide guidance on the best way to introduce me to your home, by giving me a dedicated, safe place to decompress and establish good litterbox habits before letting me into the entire house. I promise I will be as brave as possible if you are loving and patient with me. 11-25-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
