Description Libby (in Foster)
Libby
Well, the last time you were reading about me was in October 2024. My first owner surrendered me because he couldn't afford to keep me. He called me Missy, so that's what the interviewer lady (IL) called me. I was adopted in December and lived with this owner for one year. But she surrendered me on January 21 because she couldn't afford my medical care. And now I'm called Libby. As you may have noticed, I am a little on the pudgy side and need to lose some weight. I am on a diet designed to help me lose a few pounds and to keep my skin allergies in check. My first owner allowed me to spend hours outside, unsupervised, sometimes all night, where I would hunt and chase mice and chipmunks. Once I got hungry, I'd zoom back home for dinner! I got along well with the four-year-old child and the pet Corgi. My next owner always kept me inside, and I was fine with that. She said that I was very sweet and affectionate, easy to redirect to using a scratching post, and spent most of my time napping. I loved being cuddled and would solicit pets even from new people. Once I returned to the shelter, I began having tummy troubles, which were treated with medication. I'm feeling much better now and getting antsy about finding my forever home. The IL remembered I had a sweet-natured, lovey-dovey personality back in 2024. While lying in my Kitty Kasa, I stretched, rolled over, and showed my tummy so she could reach everywhere. All the time I was purring and making air biscuits. Now I am 7-years-old and I still love being petted! I licked the IL's finger and slowly rolled over onto my side so that she could pet me all over. My purr motor was running at full speed. If you come to HSHC to meet me, be prepared to fall in love. I'm a catch! 2-13-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
