About Matilda
Hilda is a 6 year old brown and orange torbie who loves people and enjoys her toys and treats. She was found as a stray back in October 2014. Now we are in the year 2015 and still she waits for a home.
So if her care instructions are so simple, why hasn't she been adopted yet? Well, many people who learn that a cat has FIV steer clear of them. But the truth is, having a weaker immune system than other cats, which is what FIV basically is, just means kitties like Hilda have to eat nutritious food and get their yearly checkups and vaccines. FIV isn't contagious to humans or dogs, and now research shows that FIV+ cats can live in homes with other FIV- cats. That's because it's spread almost exclusively through deep bite wounds.
Being a gentle girl and on her own as a stray, Hilda was likely bitten while trying to defend herself against an aggressive cat. Cats in a home environment may tussle a bit, but fights that lead to deep bite wounds are rare. And Hilda, with her laid-back personality, certainly isn't itching for a fight. We could go through a whole laundry list of reasons why you should adopt Hilda. But that's just wasting precious time. She needs you now! 1/29/15

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
