Description Bandit
Bandit -AKA Alvin, Edward, or Uncle Louie
When the interviewer lady (IL) first met me in 2013, I was part of a litter of newborn kittens, covered in fleas, who had been surrendered to the HSHC. My name was Alvin. I was adopted in September 2013 and lived with him for 7 years, during which my front paws were declawed. I was called Edward. I was surrendered back to the HSHC in December 2021 as "unwanted". That hurts a guy's feelings. The IL wrote my first story in January 2022 when my name became Uncle Louie. She was crazy about me and couldn't get over how handsome, affectionate, and lovable I was. Happily, I was soon adopted. However, on April 1, 2026, I was returned to the HSHC with the name Bandit. The IL was very saddened to see me back in the cattery. I am now 12-years, 9-months old and feeling rather defeated. When she stopped by my apartment today, I sniffed her finger, but I didn't feel like moving from behind my litter box. I am confused about being back at the HSHC and wonder what will happen to me. I tell myself that I am a good boy and I deserve a loving forever home. But I'm not sure how to prove this to the people who walk by my two little rooms. I am a shy cat when I first meet someone, but with time, I become more confident. I am not fond of being picked up and held-it feels too much like being restrained. But if you are sitting down, I will climb into your lap for a cuddle because it was my idea! If I can be the instigator, I am a very affectionate cat. Even though I am a senior now, I still love giving chase to laser and wand toys. My favorite treats are hard and crunchy! The Feline Care Specialists know that I will adjust to a new home more successfully if you follow their recommendations. I will need a small space (like a bathroom or spare room) where I can have everything I need, a safe place to relax and become comfortable with all the changes I experience. I will need up to three months to feel settled. Because I have been surrendered three times, you will not be able to take me home with you today. We will need to meet several times in order to be sure we are a good match. The IL knows I am a sweet cat, and she tells me the right person will find me. 4-16-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
