Party with the Animals
celebrate with the party animals
Would you like to have an unforgettable party for your child’s next birthday?
What better way to celebrate your child’s birthday than with the Humane Society for Hamilton County? Children ages 6 years and older are invited to be a Party Animal and share their birthday celebration with the animals at the shelter. Our birthday parties will make lasting memories and you will leave knowing that you supported animals in need while having a fur-real good time.
Birthday party fees go directly towards the thousands of animals we care for each year.
Please note that not all birthday parties can be approved based on scheduling constraints.
Birthday Party FAQS
When are birthday parties held at the Humane Society for Hamilton County?
Birthday parties may be scheduled based on availability.
*Please note, not all birthday parties can be approved based on scheduling constraints of HSHC. We apologize in advance if we are unable to accommodate your request.
Can guests bring donations for the dogs and cats?
Absolutely! We encourage all in attendance to bring a donation for our animals. In fact, some of our birthday boys/girls insist that their guests bring gifts for our animals instead of themselves. Children celebrating their birthday with us who encourage donations will be eligible for recognition as an HSHC Humane Hero and will be acknowledged on the HSHC Facebook page.
What is the cancellation policy for birthday parties?
HSHC will refund birthday party deposits for cancellations made two (2) or more weeks in advance.
How early is the party room available on the day of our event?
You may arrive at the party room 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of your party to set up. You will be given 15 minutes after your party to remove all personal items, gifts, etc.
Can I bring my own food?
You are welcome to bring in any food that does not require any on-site preparation or storage. No chafing dishes, hot plates, or crock-pots are allowed.
What is the minimum and maximum number of guests for a party?
There is no minimum number of party guests; however, the maximum number of guests is limited to 20 individuals, including both children and adults. A minimum of two adult chaperones must be present during the entirety of the party.
Can we bring decorations?
You may bring in decor, but it must be limited to the tops of tables. You may not hang anything from the walls or the ceiling. Streamers, confetti, silly string, piñatas, balloons, etc. are prohibited.
Can a shelter employee help unload and/or cart items to and from my vehicle?
The animals keep us very busy, so staff will not be available to help carry or transport any items to or from the party room. You are responsible for transporting these items on your own.
Can I request the animal for my animal experience?
Due to the nature of the adoption center, we cannot take requests for specific animals for your experience, we cannot guarantee any particular animal will be at your party, and we cannot notify you in advance which animals will be available. You may, however, request which species – cat or dog – you prefer.
Where can guests find the party room?
The party room is located directly inside the Rebecca M. Stevens Education Center entrance (closest to Hague Road).
Will there be a staff member in the party room during my party?
Our staff will not be present in the party room during the entirety of your celebration but will assist with activities, such as your tour and meet and greet, for approximately one hour of your celebration. Staff will check in with you periodically to answer any questions or offer assistance as needed.
