I was surprised to learn my name refers to Deep Eddy Vodka. I don't even drink. I thought it had to do with flowing water and fishing! I showed up at the HSHC on August 7 because my owner didn't want me anymore. I am 2-years, 6 months old and have lived with him all my life. I am a big fellow at 14 pounds, but I'm just tall and big boned, not fat. I am a typical brown-and-black DSH with a smidge of white on my chin. I lived with another cat, my littermate, and we were best friends. I also lived with kids aged 10 to 14, and we got along like peas and carrots. I was fond of sleeping with the 10-year-old. At my age, I am a big fan of playtime, especially with robotic toys with a tail and strings I can chase. I enjoy eating hard, crunchy treats. I love using those cardboard scratcher thingys! I am also partial to being held in your arms like a baby. When the interviewer lady (IL) came to see me in the Roaming Room, I made a beeline to her for some pets and chin rubs. I was nothing but friendly and affectionate with her. Since she was sitting on the floor, I consistently rubbed against her and stayed within petting distance. She complimented me on how soft and sleek my coat was and how she loved my pencil-eraser red nose. When the medical staff examined me, they found that I had crystals in my urine, which is an extremely painful condition. I've been eating Hill's C/D food, which is designed to alter my urine pH levels to reduce the risk of stone and crystal formation. I truly appreciate a clean, well-maintained litter box. I hope my next family will be my last family because change is always a challenge for me. Please provide a small, safe space where I can adjust to my new home and people at my own pace. 9-10-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
