Celine Dion
I was a 5-year-old stray back in 2016 when my finder brought me to the HSHC. I was adopted a couple of months later. Since then, I have lived with my owner for 10 years. I am now 14 years and 9 months old. My owner is moving and not taking me with her. This has hurt my feelings. My original name was Emelia. The interviewer lady (IL) described me as strikingly beautiful, but scared. When I was 5, it took me a long time to warm up to people. I think that still holds true. I am a DLH cat with a gorgeous black-and-white coat. I have huge light-green eyes and a pink nose. I coexisted with the other resident cat, but we never formed a loving relationship. I also lived with a dalmatian. I avoided the dalmatian. When the teenage grandchildren visited, I would let them hold me. I was fairly friendly when meeting new people. I loved my owner and would happily spend time in her lap. Being confined and put into a carrier was very stressful for me. I enjoyed having my owner brush me every day, as long as she didn't pull too hard. When HSHC examined me, they found urinary tract crystals and an infection. I have been treated for these issues. I now eat Hill's C/D food to help my urinary health. I prefer my litter box to be cleaned daily. Cleanliness is key to maintaining my image, especially since I am so outstandingly good-looking. Going to the veterinarian has always made me anxious. I am looking for a patient and understanding adopter who can give me time to adjust at my own pace. I will thrive in a calm home where I can have a safe space to retreat to and benefit from gentle, gradual introductions to any existing pets. My owner should respect my sensitive nature, continue my special food for urinary health, and maintain a clean litter box. It is important that my adopter is willing to follow HSHC's transition instructions to help me settle in. 5-30-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
