Description Sassy Sue
Sassy Sue
According to my foster mother (FM), who took care of me from April 10 to June 19, I am a sweet-natured and outgoing girl. On April 1, I arrived at the HSHC as a stray kitty. The medical department determined that I was expecting kittens, and since I am 9-years-old, I was quite surprised to hear this. I was moved into a foster home where I could deliver and raise my kittens. My foster mom (FM) gave me a room by myself because mama cats can be defensive about their babies. The thing is, I was extremely curious about the rest of the house and the other cats living there. No matter how loudly I called to be let out or how far I stuck my paw under the door, FM did not give in to me. The foster department told her that they did not think this was my first pregnancy and that it would probably be very easy for me. They were right. I was a fantastic mama to my three kittens. My FM will tell you I'm a vocal cat in general and will let you know if I want attention, the window open, or if I want some food.  You will win me over if you give me belly rubs and butt and head scratches. I am a passionate birdwatcher/hunter while sitting beside a window. I also take playing with wand toys very seriously. While not exactly a social butterfly, when strangers stopped by, I acted as if we were old friends. I'm not a scaredy-cat, never demonstrated fearful characteristics, and if FM touched me where I didn't like, I'd just jump away, never hissing or swatting. The HSHC staff will counsel my adopters on best practices for introducing me to my new home, including providing me with a dedicated space-such as a bedroom or bathroom-equipped with my own food, water, and litter box for the first 5 to 7 days. I'm eager to begin my new life with you. I hope you like orange and white, long-haired kitties! 7-8-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
