Roofus is a handsome Redbone Coonhound with a heart as big as his hound dog howl! This lovable boy is housebroken, crate-trained, and non-destructive when left loose. He's got a strong bond with his people and has done well living with older kids who respect his space. Every night, he curled up with the teenager in his home.
Like many hounds, Roofus has a mind of his own and prefers when things go at his pace. He's not a fan of being handled in ways that make him uncomfortable, and he communicates this very well-he's just letting you know his boundaries! He's never snapped or bitten, just politely asks for space. With patience and positive reinforcement, he'll thrive in a home that respects his cues and lets him build trust on his own terms.
Roofus has some experience with other dogs and enjoys playtime, though he can get a little carried away. If you have a resident dog, we'd love to set up a meet-and-greet to see if they'd be a good match!

Adoption Fees & Benefits:
Under 1 year: $200
1-4 years: $100
5-9 years: $55
10+ years: $35
Fees include: Heartworm test (age appropriate), vaccinations, flea/tick preventative, complimentary bag of food, wellness exam, and rabies vaccine.
Important Notice: A "meet and greet" with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas. We encourage bringing your family and current pets, especially if traveling from afar.
Adoption Hours: Open daily at 12 PM, except Wednesdays. No appointment needed!

Adoption Hours: Daily 12-5PM, closed Wednesdays. No appointment needed, unless the dog or cat is in foster! Apply and then call us at 317-773-4974 to set up a meet and greet with an pet in foster care.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
