About Koda

Dogs – Has done well in group play and enjoys playing outside the home
Cats – Unknown
Kids – Yes, 14+
Koda's world changed in an instant. He had been a happy, playful dog, but after losing his family's beloved mom, he seemed to lose a piece of himself, too. The once-joyful pup who loved toys and adventures became quiet and withdrawn, not wanting to play the way he used to. Now, as his family faces another transition, Koda is looking for a home where he can find his spark again.
At 5 years old, Koda is an independent, intelligent dog who enjoys toys, exploring, and spending time with the people he trusts. He's done well in doggy daycare and group play, but he prefers slow introductions to new dogs outside of those structured settings.
Koda is a deeply loyal dog, and because of that, he's cautious with new people-especially men. He needs time, patience, and gentle encouragement to feel safe. But once he trusts you? You'll have a friend for life. His family has described him as a dog who loves in his own way-he'll happily keep himself entertained but will also check in for playtime or affection, just to remind you he's there.
He's fully house-trained, not destructive, and prefers a quiet, predictable home where he can relax and regain his confidence. He's still grieving, still adjusting, but with the right person, we know he'll find happiness again.
Koda lost someone he loved, but he still has so much love left to give. If you have room in your heart for a dog who needs time to heal, he's ready to meet you.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
