About Tink (in Foster)

Wow! You have to hand it to the Foster Program at HSHC. I was surrendered just before Christmas because my owner lost her home. What a nightmare. I have lived with her ever since I was six months old, and I'm 4-years and 7-months old now. Honestly, I was terrified of being in the cattery and missed my owner so much that I stopped eating. That is when the HSHC moved me into a foster home, and my life took an enormous swing toward happiness. My foster parents (FP) have been giving me everything I need to feel comfortable, safe, and more like my old self. I take medication to help me deal with my stress, and now that I am in a home environment, it is working! My FP set me up in a room that is all mine, where I spend most of my time. They report that when I first arrived, I was hardly eating. Now, I am a member of the Clean Plate Club! It tickles them to see me eat so quickly. I am still too shy to do all the socializing they would like to do with me. They leave my bedroom door open so that I can feel free to explore. I have been watching the other pets in the home but have yet to work up the courage to venture out. But my FP have noticed me gazing enviously at the different spaces. I am planning on doing a survey when no one is watching. Don't tell anyone. I am already spayed and housetrained, a pretty brown Tabby with white markings and a heart-shaped nose. I am still a scaredy-cat and not ready to consider moving until my confidence improves. But with each passing day, I'm making progress and getting closer to being the brave cat I want to be. 2-11-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
